Test drives of the Think City electric car were offered at the Monterey Bay Electric Vehicle Alliance (MBEVA) meeting this past week at the IBEW Local 234 in Castroville. Tim Cunningham, Western Region Sales Manager, also provided information about this lithium battery-powered urban car.  The 2-seat car has a top speed of 70+ mph and a range of about 100+ miles.   Many parts are made from recyclable materials and 95% of the car is recyclable.  TH!NK plans to deliver the City to fleets later in 2010.   Helping our tri-county region learn more about electric vehicles coming to market is just one objective of MBEVA. Others include obtaining funding for publicly available EV charging stations, related job development, and streamlined EV charging station permit processing in our local cities and counties.
